For five years I have advocated students pouring over primary sources to connect to people's lives and their place in " big history."
Nonetheless, as I prepared for the BYU Family History and Genealogy conference, I found this amazing article by Sam Wineburg on the Library of Congress "Teaching with Primary Documents" website. Do you know how many times I have used this site and never read this article?
Sam is an awesome educator. He feels the same way I do about students being historical detectives.
Enjoy the article!
